2009 SGA Match Play Ladder Tournament
The rules for 2009 were very straight-forward:
However, unfortunately, none of the brackets completed play! Shame, on us.
This event was a round robin best ball net format with 3 flights of 6 teams.
Each team would play the other 5 teams in its flight.
Each team plays 5 other teams in flight, at least 1 match per month, you pick order.
Best ball net, strokes off low handicap in each match:
2 points for win, 1 point for tie, highest 5-match total points wins.
The standard mixed tee rules should be applied as the default in all matches.
That is to say, White tee players take 2 strokes off if playing against a Blue tee player on opposing team or with a Blue tee player on the same team.
Furthermore, strokes are taken only relative to the lowest handicap player of the foursome, again with the same mixed tee differential of 2 strokes. If you are more adventurous and/or creative, you are permitted to use other rules that you are able to negotiate to the satisfaction of your opponents, but remember that you have to play every other team in your flight, and you only have 2 points to win or lose in each match.
Play them down and putt them out except when concessions are made/given at your discretion.
All matches were to be completed by 19 October, 2009 at the latest.
